SpooKEY Talent Show
By Palki Mand During the month of October, Key Club hosted a Halloween themed event where everyone had so much fun and we all were able to raise money for the Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP). It was called the SpooKEY talent show. During this event, I had tons of fun in the activities that were hosted by many officers and members, along with the joy I found from the items I donated. There was a talent show during the event, where Key Clubbers showed their various talents; from telling jokes to singing and rapping songs in their own language. It was so fascinating and entertaining to see the different talents people possessed and the confidence they had. We all played so many activities, where we got to know about different people and things they were good at. Such as, musical chairs, red light-green light, and contests! Most importantly, through this fundraising event, we were able to raise a total of $150 for the Pediatric Trauma program. This event was not only fun for everyone to socialize together, along with making new friends, about all this was for where members and even non-members impact our community in a positive way through these services. Along with, building relationships and friendships that are so important for us in today’s world! Club Rush
By Emily Wang With Club Rush basically nonexistent over quarantine, this year’s Club Rush at Los Osos was truly an opportunity our club could not pass up. Driven by the Key Club spirit, our board began meticulously planning two weeks prior and came up with ideas to draw high schoolers to our table: a trifold made from scratch featuring the best of our club, and (even better) a prize wheel that interested students could spin for prizes! Our prizes consisted of scrumptious Krispy Kreme donuts, a variety of sweet candy, and shiny Key Club pins. One of the prizes on the wheel was truly extraordinary. It prompted members to ask us how we felt, upon which the Osos president and secretary broke out into the D15N chant rather raucously. Looking past these displays of public unrest, however, Club Rush was extremely successful for Los Osos - we got more than 100 sign-ups and have nearly maxed both our Remind classes! Club Rush 2021 will definitely stand out in my Key Club memories of this year. |
